Majority Of Aran Islanders Want To Stay Closed

A Community Development Manager on the island of Inis Oírr says community concerns must take precedence when it comes to reopening the islands.

A recent poll on the island found 92 per cent of locals would prefer that tourism was halted until at least the end of summer, for fear of how quickly COVID-19 could spread there.

The main concerns are the small area of the islands and lack of medical facilities.
