Major Farm Health And Safety Conference Taking Place In Ennis Today

A major farming conference taking place in Clare today is looking at ways to reduce rising number of farm deaths and accidents.

21 people, including two in Clare, have died on farms so far this year, highlighting the need for improved safety measures to be implemented.

Today’s event, which kicks off at the Auburn Hotel at 9.30, is organisaed by Teagasc and the Health and Safety Authority, which says more intensive farming is driving longer working hours where people are self supervised.
