Major Drop In Live Register Figures In Clare

There’s been a significant drop in the number of people signing on in Co. Clare.

Latest figures from the CSO show that there were 160 less people in the dole queues around the county last month than there were in February.

The CSO’s monthly live register figures show that there has been an overall drop of 160 in the number of people signing on in Clare.

The biggest single drop came in areas associated with the Ennistymon social welfare office, where 103 people entered the workforce in the past month.

In Kilrush, there are now 38 less people signing on while in Ennis, it was 27.

It was only the Tulla social welfare office that saw its queues rise last month, by eight people.

In total, there are now 5,655 people around the Banner County on the live register, which is a drop of 773 in the space of a year.
