Lowest Number Of COVID Cases In Clare In Nearly Two Months Last Week

Last week saw the lowest number of cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in Clare in almost two months.

New figures also reveal that the death toll here in Clare as a result of the virus has climbed to 43.

There were 50 cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in Clare between the 6th and 13th of November – that’s the lowest number since end of September.

Weekly cases are down by nearly 80% here since the beginning of October, a trend backed up by the latest electoral area data, which shows the incidence rate of the virus has fallen in all five areas of the county

Since March, 43 deaths in Clare have been linked with the virus – that number has increased by three since the beginning of last month,

In all, the CSO says there have been 1,432 cases diagnosed here since the onset of the pandemic, with Clare accounting for just over 2% of the nationwide number of 68,122.
