Lough Derg Water Extraction Plan Being Re-Considered

Irish Water is now said to be considering its options in relation to controversial plans to extract water from Lough Derg.

Officials from the state utility briefed members of the Killaloe Municpal Authority yesterday, and told them plans to get water from Lough Derg to supply the capital is now one of a number of options it's considering.

Others include the desalination of water in the Dublin area itself.
