Clare Gardaí are warning that mandatory breath testing will be carried out in both daylight and night-time hours today.
Extra checkpoints are being mounted across the Banner County, with both marked and unmarked cars patrolling all areas.
Once again, the Bank Holiday road safety campaign will target drink driving in particular, while seat-belt wearing and distraction driving will also be focused on.
