Counting is underway in Clare following yesterday’s local and European elections.
Some 51 candidates are in the mix for 28 seats for the next incarnation of Clare County Council.
Voters in their droves took to the polling stations across the county yesterday to have their say in who will represent their local area.

Those who are successful in their bid for a seat will sit in one of four municipal districts in Clare – namely Ennis, Shannon, Killaloe and Kilrush.
Final tallies aren’t expected until tomorrow with the count taking place from today in Treacy’s West County Hotel in Ennis.
