Local Businesses Need To See Light At End Of Tunnel Says Former Mayor

A former Mayor of Ennis inists there needs to be light at the end of the tunnel for struggling businesses.

Councillor Pat Daly has called for the Ennis Mobility Plan to be kept under constant review, with a view to re-opening selected streets, if case numbers of covid-19 continue to improve.

Clare County Council says it’s been decided by a stakeholders group comprising elected representatives, GardaĆ­, retailers and other groups, not to alter the current traffic arrangment during the level five lockdown.

A review of the plan is sheduled to take place, however, shortly after the easing of the current lockdown measures.

Councillor Daly says the past year has taken a hevy toll on local businesses and he believes an exit plan is needed.
