Limerick Institute of Technology is to secure an Ennis campus, with the capacity for 500 students.
The college has been offering courses in the county town for the past 15 years, with three degree programmes currently on offer here.
At present, the courses are delivered at three locations, including the county museum, but plans are now in place to operate a dedicated campus, with an announcement on that expected in the coming weeks.
