Lisbon passed again in Clare

The Lisbon Treaty has been passed by the Irish people, by a majority of two to one.

The victory for the YES side was clear from early this morning with the official
declaration made just before 5 o’clock this evening.

Here in Clare the vote was carried decisively with 72 percent yes of people giving it the thumbs up.

This compares to 52 percent for Lisbon Mark 1.

Over 46 thousand people of the 80 thousand or so eligable to vote in  the referendum cast their ballots at the polls yesterday.
