The National Transport Authority has outlined its vision for the future transport needs of the Limerick-Shannon area.

A new draft Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy earmarks investment in public transport, and walking and cycling infrastructure, as the plan aims to radically transform the cycling environment.

Similarly, a bus connects package between Limerick and Shannon is part of the plan as well as an improved and higher speed inter-city rail service.

It’s now gone to public consultation up until October 16th and NTA Project Manager on the strategy, David Clements, hopes that the investment in public transport will benefit many people.
