Ennis is to receive a boost with the opening of a new Lidl store.
The supermarket giant has confirmed that plans will be lodged with Clare County Council in the coming days for a second store in the county town, which will be located on the Limerick Road.
Additional commercial units are also planned, one of which is likely to be a creche.

Up to 25 jobs are to be created in the planned store, with further jobs expected once the additional units are filled.
Head of Communications for Lidl Ireland, Aoife Clarke says the company is hopeful that the development will get the green light.
