A Lahinch man is urging caution after discovering that just over 2,400 euro had been stolen from his savings account by an unknown fraudster.
He received a text message, which he believed was from his bank and spoke to a man he thought was an employee with the financial institution before the money disappeared.
Despite making contact with both his bank and Gardaí, Gavin Coughlan has not yet been successful in getting his money back.
