Kilrush WWI Memorial To Be Formally Launched Next Month

A memorial is being erected in Kilrush to honour the men from the town who fought in the First World War.

Construction of the memorial is nearing completion but more funds are needed to finish the job.

A gofund me page has been started to help raise funds to complete the memorial to preserve the legacy of over 400 men who enlisted from Kilrush.

Around 100 of those died, and secretary of the Kilrush & District Historical Society, Paul O’Brien, says it’s clear that some of those who lost their lives are still remembered in the town.
