Killaloe Diocesan Changes Are Announced

The Bishop of Killaloe has announced the annual Diocesan changes.

Ennis has a new parish priest, while a well-known priest in East Clare is taking a twelve-month sabbatical from his parishes

Father Tom Hogan goes from being the Administrator of Ennis Cathedral to the parish priest of the town, while Curate Fr. Fergal O'Neill moves to Portroe.

There he replaces Fr. Pat Malone, who becomes Parish Priest in Clarecastle – Father Harry Brady is to become Assistant Parish Priest there.

Fr. Brendan Quinlivan is taking a one-year sabbatical from his position as Parish Priest in Scariff, Feakle and Killanena/Flagmount, but will continue in his rose as head of Communications for the Diocese.

President at St. Flannan's College Fr. Joe McMahon takes on his ministerial duties on a temporary basis.

Fr. Joseph Hourigan remains as Parish Priest in Lissycasey while Fr. Donogh O'Meara, Parish Prist of Ogonolloe and Bodyke, will also be Moderator of the East Clare Group of parishes.

That now also includes Broadford.

A number of other appointments have been made elsewhere in the Diocese of Killaloe, which now has 82 priests in full-time parish ministry serving a Catholic population of around 127,000.
