Kilkee Teacher Calls For Government Attention To Teachers’ Concerns

Clare’s ASTI representative says the Department of Education should be providing staff in all schools with face masks.

The union is set to ballot its members for industrial action due to COVID-19 safety concerns in schools.

Issues raised include a lack of physical distancing in schools, a shortage of PPE, concerns about the definition of close contacts, a need for more comprehensive testing and testing turnaround times, and provisions for high risk teachers.
