Jobs Boost For Shannon With New Aircraft Materials Company

Shannon is to receive a welcome jobs boost.

25 jobs are to be created following the announcement by a top US aircraft materials company that it’s to establish its European base in the Shannon Free Zone.

US Aircraft materials company Jetpower, has announced that it’s to establish it’s European base here, with the creation of 25 jobs.

The company, which has been serving customers globally since 1998, has secured a 25,000 square foot premises at Shannon Free Zone West, aided by Shannon Commercial Properties.

The facility provides warehousing and storage for engine parts which will be transported from Shannon Airport to Europe and across the world.

It’s the latest addition to the aerospace cluster at the Shannon Free Zone, where 50 aviation companies employ over 2,500 people between them.

The announcement comes on a day when a further 28 jobs have been created in Shannon town, with the opening of a new food retailer.

Iceland has officially opened it’s newest store at the Skycourt Shopping centre today, following a 12 million euro investment in nine new outlets in the country this year.
