Jobs Boost For Ennistymon As Supermarket Opens

There’s a jobs boost for Ennistymon today with the opening of a new supermarket in the town.

15 new jobs have been created at the new ALDI, which is located at the site of the former mart.

It’s the company’s third outlet in Clare and brings to 129 the number of ALDI stores in the country.

Speaking at the store opening, Declan Coyne, Manager of Aldi’s new Ennistymon store said “We are delighted to open our new Ennistymon store and look forward to welcoming many new customers from the local area”

“Aldi has grown in popularity across Ireland in recent years and we are pleased to make the quality, value and variety of our product ranges available to more people throughout Co. Clare” he concluded.

Aldi has established solid roots in many of Ireland’s local communities having developed longstanding partnerships with numerous Irish producers.

In the last five years Aldi has recruited over 70 new Irish suppliers, meaning Aldi now partners with more than 175 Irish producers. Over 50% of Aldi’s supplier spend is now with Irish suppliers, producers and manufacturers. All of Aldi’s fresh meats, fresh poultry, eggs, bread, flour, and many of its teas, coffees, soft drinks, waters and snacks are provided by leading Irish suppliers.

Aldi’s Irish products have a strong track record of dominating national and international food awards. Aldi’s products have won hundreds of awards at the Great Taste, Blas na hÉireann and the Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards in recent years.
