Irish People Most Likely To Consume Alcohol At Home

A member of an Alcoholics Anonymous group in Clare says he is not surprised by a new report which shows home drinking or pre-drinking is most likely to occur in Ireland.

The study, which covered 25 countries, found that more than 4 out of 5 Irish people consume alcohol in the home.

Alcohol Action Ireland insists that the report proves that people here are drinking at home simply to get drunk.

Michael, who is part of an AA group here, told Clare FM’s Morning Focus that he believes different groups are susceptible to abusing alcohol at home.
