Air Force Two has touched down at Shannon Airport to mark the start of the US Vice President’s visit to Ireland.
Mike Pence and Second Lady Karen Pence were greeted by Tanaiste Simon Coveney on the tarmac.
Tomorrow, in Dublin, Mr Pence will meet the Taoiseach and the President but he will spend the next two nights in the Trump family’s five-star Doonbeg resort.

A personal highlight of the trip will undoubtedly come tomorrow evening, when Mr. Pence and his family will enjoy dinner at Morrissey’s Restaurant in Doonbeg.
Owner Hugh McNally is a distant relative of the Pence family.
