Innovative Paint Recycling Scheme Could Come To Clare

Clare County Council is to work with its counterparts in Cork to see if a ‘paint re-use scheme’ can be introduced here.

While many householders have traditionally brought their left over paint to a civic amenity site for disposal or incineration, this could now change under a scheme in which the paint is filter, remix, recolour and repackage the paint before selling it at reduced rates in the local community.

The programme is underway in Cork and Dublin, and now Clare County Council is to explore the idea on foot of a request from Sinn Féin Councillor Donna McGettigan.
