Controversial speed limit changes on the main artery into West Clare are being defended by a local representative, as the first step towards getting the entire route upgraded.
There’s growing anger over the decision to implement 11 speed changes on the 43km road, with a local solicitor describing it as “the greatest threat to West Clare, since the foundation of the state”.
The county’s political representatives are now being called on to work to reverse the decision.
