Calls For Unredacted Version Of Broadband Cost Warnings To Be Published

Fianna Fail have called for an unredacted version of broadband cost warnings to be published.

The party’s communications spokesperson, Clare TD Timmy Dooley says it’s totally unacceptable that the chosen bidder to deliver broadband to rural Ireland is contributing so little to the project.

It comes after Minister Michael Creed revealed to Clare FM that Granahan McCourt is putting less than 200 million euro into the project, compared with 3 billion by taxpayers.

A Clare Fine Gael TD has accused Sinn Féin of neglecting rural Ireland, after the party called for the National Broadband Plan to be scrapped.

Sinn Féin has labelled it farcical and completely flawed, but Clarecastle TD Joe Carey says it’s a case of Sinn Féin cosying up to Fianna Fáil and not coming up with alternative solutions.
