During the first half of this year, some 516 homes in Clare exchanged hands.

That figure is a drop of 3% on the same period last year, when there were 532 property transactions.

But despite this, the value of residential property in Clare is continuing to rise.

The combined value of the homes sold in the county from January to June is just shy of €92,000,000, putting the average price fetched here at around €178,000.

The trend elsewhere in the province is similar but Clare has the lowest total value of sales and the lowest number of properties sold this year to date.

MyHome.ie says more properties are coming on the market which is welcome news for first time buyers here, while there is relative affordability for those in the market for a home in Munster.
