The CEO of Midwest Simon says it’s critical to get to grips with the extent of the extra pressure on Clare’s homeless services.
It comes as Clare County Council has revealed that its Homeless Action Team has been bombarded with calls in recent weeks as the likes of hospitals and prisons have reduced occupancy, leading to more people being in need of assistance.
In response, the local authority has appealed to owners of vacant houses to make themselves known to them, so that they can increase capacity across their service.
Jackie Bonfield has been telling Clare FM’s James Mulhall that they are working to the best of their ability to abide by social distancing while continuing to support those most in need at this time.
