Fewer than half of Clare applicants for a home loan scheme designed to assist first time buyers have been given the green light.
There have been 82 applications to Clare County Council for money under the government-backed Rebuilding Ireland Home Loan, which can be used by first-time buyers to purchase a home.
However, only 35 have been recommended for approval, according to figures released to the Dáil by Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy.
