HAP Payments To Landlords In Clare Climb By 10% In Two Years

Average payments to landlords under the Housing Assistance Payment scheme have climbed by over 10% in Clare over the past two years.

The Dáil has heard that at the end of last year, 1,369 landlords here were being paid an average of 480 euro each after leasing their homes out under the HAP scheme.

But just two years earlier the average payment was 430 euro, with the overall difference now amounting to almost 70,000 euro a month.
