Construction On 51 Social Houses In Shannon To Begin Late This Year

The Cathaoirleach of the Shannon Municipal District has criticised national policy surrounding the provision of social housing, saying it’s taking far too long to bring homes on stream.

Gerry Flynn’s comments follow confirmation that construction is due to begin on 51 social houses in Shannon by the end of the year, with a 2021 completion date.

Speaking at a meeting of the Municipal District this week, Councillors said they believed there would be strong demand for the houses.
