Calls For Wider Rollout Of Homeless Hubs In Clare And Midwest

Calls have been made for more homeless hubs in the region, to ensure families don’t fall back into homelessness once they move on.

It comes as the latest figures compiled by the Department of Housing and Clare County Council show there were 76 homeless adults in Clare last month, while 49 children were being housed in emergency accommodation in hotels, hostels and B&Bs.

Clare’s first family hub, which is managed by Novas in conjunction with the local authority, opened last Friday and will acts as a bridge between emergency accommodation and long-term homes for five families by the end of this week.
