Call For Major Review Of Social Housing Allocation

Calls are being made for a major review of the social housing allocation system to be carried out in Clare.

Independent Sixmilebridge Councillor PJ Ryan has requested the review, in light of confusion among members of the public on issues including the criteria for social housing and the level of sway that politicians have in the allocation.

CEO of Clare County Council Pat Dowling says the current system is mandated by central government but that a meeting can be held with a view to discussing a review.
