‘Adopt A Family’ Scheme Proposed To Address Clare’s Housing Crisis

It’s claimed an ‘Adopt a Family’ scheme could play a major part in addressing Clare’s housing crisis.

The programme, which has been proposed by Kilrush Fine Gael Councillor Gabriel Keating, would see vacant houses identified in villages across the county, with the local community then working with the local authority to house a family in the homes.

This in turn, it’s hoped, would benefit the rural community by having additional footfall in the schools, shops and businesses; while a struggling family would be given a home to call their own.
