Hotelier Claims Irish Open Would Be Worth €10 Million To Lahinch

A decision on the host of next year’s Irish Open is expected by July.

Paul McGinley, who has reportedly backed Lahinch as the host of the event and also sits on the board of the European Tour, has confirmed to Clare FM that the course is among the venues that are being considered for what is one of its biggest events.

Sources within Lahinch Golf Club have also indicated that they’re open to hosting the event, and it’s understood that the course will be assessed by European Tour officials in the coming weeks.
