Hopes New Shannon Transatlantic Services Will Lead To Jobs Boost

Hopes have been expressed that a new transatlantic service which will be operated out of Shannon from this summer will lead to increased jobs growth.

Ireland South MEP, Deirdre Clune is commenting in light of comments by White House Spokesperson Sean Spicer, who has indicated that President Trump’s administration looks favourably on Norwegian’s application to operate flights to the US.

The airline was granted a licence in December, and the 61-day ‘cooling-off period’, which would allow the Trump administration to overturn the decision has now ended.

Deirdre Clune, who is a member of the EU Transport Committee, believes the new route will boost emplyment and lead to better competition.
