Hope has been expressed that flood protection works in Miltown Malbay will progress by the end of the year.
Clare County Council is to lodge a planning application shortly for the project, following severe floods which hit the West Clare town in September 2015.
Local Independent Councillor Christy Curtin insists the people of Miltown Malbay and its surrounding hinterlands are looking for assurances that they won’t get hit again.
