It’s hoped a new ALDI store opening in Killaloe this week will not displace the existing businesses in the town.
The German discount supermarket is opening its fourth Clare store there – its first in the east of the county.
The project was given the green light by An Bord Pleanála a year ago, after objections were lodged with Clare County Council by locals who were concerned about the impact on existing businesses.
