Hope Expressed That Pope Will Come To Clare On Irish Visit

It’s hoped that Pope Francis will at the very least fly out of Shannon Airport on his trip to Ireland this year.

The Pontiff has announced he’ll be in Dublin for the World Meeting of Families in August, arriving on Saturday the 25th.

The Pope will take part in the event in Croke Park and will also celebrate Mass in the Phoenix Park by the end of the visit.

No other engagements have been confirmed but calls have been made in the past for him to visit Holy Island in Clare while here.
