Clare has one of the highest rates of road traffic collisions involving cyclists of any county in Ireland.
Data from the Road Safety Authority, which has been collated by thejournal.ie, show only eight counties have a higher rate of road traffic accidents involving cyclists.
The figures, which do take population differences into account, suggest there were over 100 such collisions in 2015 and 2016, the period covered by the data.

The report also shows that the number cylist injuries each year recorded as more than doubled since 2011.
