UHL Fire Concerns Press “Urgency” Of 60-Bed Modular Unit

The Mayor of Ennis insists fire safety issues identified at the region’s main hospital presses the urgency of the delivery of a 60-bed modular unit there.

Letters and emails between the UL Hospitals Group and Limerick City and County Fire Service, sent in March, April and May of this year, reveal that the fire service considered legal action against UHL over the issue.

The fire service found 38 patients on trolleys in the ED during an inspection, well above the maximum safe limit of 29.
