HIQA Says Other Services Can Learn From UMHL Example

HIQA’s Head of Healthcare insists other maternity services can learn from the example being set at University Maternity Hospital Limerick.

However, the health watchdog analysis of UMHL has also found that increased supports are needed for the hospital to address staffing issues.

All 19 of Ireland’s maternity hospitals have been examined by HIQA in reports that have just been published and the service in Limerick, which serves expectant mothers in Clare, has been for the most part praised extensively.
