Midwest Issue Flu Advice For Winter Period

HSE Midwest is urging people not to confuse the symptoms of a common cold with the winter flu.

This time of year traditionally sees a spike in the number of patients presenting with influenza, which is a viral illness that renders its victims weak and exhausted for a number of days.

A high fever, aching muscles, chills and sweats, fatigue and weakness are among the symptoms of the highly contagious infection.
