Hopes New Facility To Replace St Joseph’s Will Proceed To Construction Quickly

Hope has been expressed that the construction of a new 25 million euro facility to replace St Joseph’s Hospital can be fast-tracked.

The HSE has confirmed that the new 100-bed unit will be located on five acres of Diocesan lands near the Turnpike in Ennis and will be operational by 2021.

The state-of-the-art development, which will cater for long stay residents, will include 88 single and 4 twin rooms, as well as four palliative care facilities.

Chief Officer of HSE MidWest Community Healthcare, Bernard Gloster believes the development can move ahead quickly.
