Harty Warns Lack Of Control Is Causing Public Confidence In National Children’s Hospital To Plummet

Clare’s Independent TD is warning that the public will never have confidence in the National Children’s Hospital project, given the lack of control the government has over it.

Dr Michael Harty has told the Health Minister that, following a visit to the site of the hospital in Dublin, his concerns about the spend on the project have heightened.

It’s already some €455 million over budget with that figure expected to rise, while a number of senior officials working on it have resigned, most recently State’s chief procurement officer who failed to flag the spiralling costs.
