Dooley Calls For External Manager To Be Appointed To University Hospital Limerick

Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD is calling on the Health Minister to appoint a new external and independent manager to University Hospital Limerick.

Deputy Timmy Dooley has made the call amid ongoing overcrowding at Dooradoyle, and says the outside manager – either an external consultant, or a senior HSE or Department official – should take charge and report directly to the Minister.

Last week, the INMO reported a total of 85 patients on trolleys at UHL on one day, the highest figure ever recorded at any Irish hospital.
