Councillor Calls For E.D. Re-Think After Hospital Stay

A recently appointed member of the HSE’s Regional Health Forum says the health system has to better support staff working in our Emergency Departments.

Kilkee Fianna Fáil Councillor Cillian Murphy has been speaking after he was admitted to hospital last week, spending a period of time in the E.D. at Dooradoyle.

He was there at a time when the hospital was experiencing near-record overcrowding, and now feels systems there could work more efficiently for patients like him who have been admitted after already seeing their GPs.

He thinks this needs to be looked at for the good of the over-worked frontline staff.
