Clare’s Mayor Warns Of Mass Exodus Of Nursing Graduates Over Recruitment Ban

The Mayor of Clare is warning of a mass exodus of highly skilled nursing graduates from the Midwest, if the Health Minister doesn’t lift a recruitment ban.

Simon Harris has responded to a letter of concern from Meelick Fianna Fáil Councillor Cathal Crowe, and says the temporary ban is a result of budgetary constraints.

Minister Harris goes on to say that the HSE’s financial projections will include a provision for the retention of graduate nurses but admits it will not always be possible to accommodate college-leavers in their preferred locations.
