Clare Health Campaigner Fears Hospital System Can’t Cope In Event Of Large Scale Coronavirus Outbreak

A Clare health campaigner believes that the country is unprepared for a Coronavirus outbreak.

Kilrush Councillor Ian Lynch, who’s a former member of the HSE’s Regional Health Forum West, is commenting after the first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Northern Ireland last night.

The patient, who is believed to be a woman and resident in the North, had recently travelled from Italy via Dublin to Belfast.

Councillor Lynch believes that there is an undue sense of panic, as most people will be able to fight off the deadly virus, but he says the hospital system won’t be able to cope, in the event of an outbreak on a large scale.
