Clare GAA Star Issues Concussion Warning

The captain of the Clare Senior Ladies Football Side has said there need to be greater awareness about the dangers of concussion within the GAA.

Laurie Ryan has spoken publicly about how, after she suffered a concussion in an accidental challenge during a match last May, she suffered from its symptoms including anxiety, headaches and poor concentration for months.

As well as missing time on the field, it also meant she missed two months of work, and it also impacted on the Ennis woman’s studies in college.
