Active Retirement President Calls On Taoiseach To Appoint Dedicated Minister For Older People

The Shannon-based President of Active Retirement Ireland is urging the Taoiseach to consider putting a dedicated Minister for Older People in place.

Kay Murphy says with Ireland’s ageing population and the growing numbers within the older demographic, it’s time to prioritise supports for the elderly and ensure that someone in government is accountable for looking after them.

As things stand, Minister of State Jim Daly has responsibility for Mental Health and Older People.
