Family Carers Ireland insists that action is urgently needed from our political representatives to end the postcode lottery in homecare.
The Ennis-based organisation is holding a series of public meetings to highlight the shortage of home-help hours.
Statistics released this week revealed big differences in the level of homecare available throughout the country, with Donegal receiving the highest number of hours of care per person last year and Longford and Westmeath the lowest.
