71 On Trolleys At UHL

71 patients have been left without a bed at the region’s main hospital today.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show that there were 37 people on trolleys in the emergency department at University Hospital Limerick this morning.

A further 34 were being accommodated on overflow areas of wards, while the figure of 71 is 11 more than the next busiest facility; Cork University Hospital.
